Maddie Carmicheal

Maddie

My name is Madison Carmichael. I’m from Hopkinton, New Hampshire, where I attended high school before beginning my studies at Saint Anselm College in Manchester. I’m currently majoring in Criminal Justice and play on the college softball team.

When I was just seven years old, my father suffered a traumatic brain injury that completely changed our family’s life. He has always been my biggest supporter and, even after the accident, he continues to be my best friend. Although it became difficult for him to navigate daily life, his strength and presence have never faded.

His TBI shaped who I am today. As an only child from a small town, I’ve always felt driven to prove myself and give back to the community that supported me during the hardest times. Watching someone you love experience something so life-altering is incredibly hard-but even harder is choosing how you respond to it. That experience taught me resilience and made me stronger than I ever imagined.

I’m incredibly proud of both my father and my mother-their perseverance and love have molded me into the person I am today. I’m also deeply grateful to Kids’ Chance for giving me the opportunity to continue pursuing my education and future career goals.

Jenna

I’m a senior at White Mountains Community College, graduating in May 2026 with my associate degree in nursing. I currently work at a hospital and plan to continue my education online to earn my bachelor’s and possibly master’s degree in nursing. I was drawn to nursing because I want to help people feel better and make a positive difference in their lives. Thanks to the support of Kids’ Chance NH, which I’ve received throughout my schooling, I’ve been able to stay focused on my goals. I truly couldn’t have done it without them.
